Evaluation

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The layout of my front cover conforms to conventions of real media products by having a one eye-catching image as the main focus. The image takes up the whole page with lures justified to the left and right of it. There is a banner at the top with a plus line and this conforms to the conventions of magazines generally.

My contents page uses conventions in the way that the catches and stories are layed out in a way that is very popular among other magazines. I have developed this by having different sections of the contents page to make things even easier to find within the magazine. The layout of the pictures subverts conventions but I think this is for good reason as this idea of subverting conventions appeals to the target audience.

The layout of my double page spread conforms to conventions by having a key image of the star on the page. The way the picture takes up the whole page and the text is placed on top also conforms to conventions of real media products.
